Also named as the 'New Grand Market', the Central Market is one of the largest markets in Cambodia with nearly 80 years of history. Located in the capital city of Phnom Penh, Central Market has unique architecture owning the shape of a dome with four arms branching to the four directions. This grand market opens from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Right at the entrance to the market, you will catch up the image of souvenir merchants displaying their goods of T-shirts, postcards and flowers. As stepping further inside the Central Market, tourists may be overwhelmed by a variety of goods from jewelry, antique coins, clothes, and flowers to souvenirs, seafood, dessert, handicraft to other countless products. It is recommended to use the currency of Cambodia – Riel when purchasing for items in Central Market. USD is also widely accepted in the market.
